How to Change Gas Price through C-Store Essentials and set up Email Alerts

This article outlines the process to update gas prices and setup Email Alerts for gas prices changes through your Cstore Essential Account

With C-Store Essentials, you can easily update gas prices for your fuel grades, whether setting separate cash and credit prices or a single cash-only price. Additionally, you can configure email alerts to notify you of any gas price changes, helping you stay updated on every adjustment made

Step-By-Step Process

Changing Gas Prices

  1. Go to C-Store Essentials Web Account

    • You can access CStore Essentials by clicking here or going to https://secure.cstorepro.com

      • Click the “Forgot Password” button if you need help resetting your password

  2. Navigate to the Change gas price Screen

    • On the left side of the screen, click on the Price Book option

    • Then click on the Gas Price option

  3. Updating the Gas Price

    • On the Change gas price screen, update the Regular, Plus, Super, and Diesel New Cash and New Credit Price columns to the desired amounts

      • To identify the current Cash price, locate the Current set cash price column

      • To identify the current Credit price, locate the Last Credit Price column

    • After updating the gas prices to the amounts desired, click Send price changes to register to apply the updates

Setting Cash-Only or Cash/Credit prices for Gas Grades

4. Navigate to the Register Mapping screen

  • On the top right side of the screen, click on the human silhouette icon

  • Then click on POS Settings

5. Locate the POS register’s settings section

  • On the next screen, confirm the General Settings tab is selected

    • The selected tab will have a white background color, while the unselected tabs will have a grey background color

  • Scroll down until you have located the POS register’s settings section

6. Select the Gas Pricing Options supported by your register

  • You can either select “I can set only cash prices for each gas grade.” or “I can set cash & credit prices for each gas grade.

Enabling Email Notifications for Gas Price Changes

Note: If you do not want to receive email notifications for gas price changes, skip to step 8.

7. Set the confirmation email for gas price changes

  • Locate the Confirmation Email for Gas Price Changes section under POS Register Settings

  • Enter the email where you want to receive notifications for gas price updates

8. Save the changes

  • Once you have updated the information in the POS Register Setting section, scroll down to the bottom of the page

  • Click the blue Update Settings button to apply the updates

Can I set up different prices for cash and credit purchases?

  • Yes, you can set individual cash and credit prices by following the instructions under Setting Cash-Only or Cash & Credit Prices for Gas Grades.

How quickly do price changes apply at the pump?

  • Once you click Send price changes to register, the updates should reflect at the pump in real-time, depending on your POS configuration.

How do I verify that gas price updates were successful?

  • Enable the Confirmation email for gas price changes to receive alerts for each successful price update, providing a record of all adjustments.

What if I only want email alerts without making changes?

  • Simply enable Confirmation email for gas price changes in General Settings to get alerts, even if no changes are made.

Can I revert a price change?

  • To adjust prices back, follow the same steps under Changing Gas Prices and re-enter the previous cash or credit price.
