How to Map Cartons and Packs in PDI C-Store Essentials

This article outlines how to map cartons and packs PDI C-Store Essentials

Updated over a week ago
  • C-Store Essentials automatically manages item mappings for cartons and packs using a built-in mapping table database.

    • However, you can manually set up mappings to ensure accurate inventory tracking

How Item Mapping Works

  • When 1 carton is sold, the system subtracts 0.1 cartons from your inventory

  • When 1 pack is sold, the system subtracts 10 packs from your inventory

  • This mapping applies to sodas, tobacco products, beer, and other multi-pack items

If you want to create your own mapping table, complete the steps below

Step-by-Step Process

1. Go to C-Store Essentials Web Account

  • You can access C-Store Essentials by clicking here or going to https://secure.cstorepro.com

    • Click the “Forgot Password” button if you need help resetting your password

2. Navigate to the Item Mapping Page

  • On the left side of the screen, click Price Book

  • Next click Inventory by Item

  • Then click on Item to Case Mappings

3. Add a New Mapping

  • Click the “+” Icon at the top right.

    • If this is your first time using Item to Case Mappings, a blue "Add New" button will appear in the middle of your screen.

  • Click the Add New button to setup the mapping

4. Enter Mapping Details

  • Find your Unit Scan Code and enter it

  • Enter the Case Scan Code (the barcode for the full case)

  • Input the Number of Units per Case

5. Save the Mapping

  • Once all details are entered, click Save to finalize the mapping

💡 Tip!: You can repeat these steps to add more items to your mapping table

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is item mapping important?

  • Item mapping ensures that your inventory automatically updates when cartons or individual packs are sold, preventing errors in stock tracking.

What happens if my item doesn’t map correctly?

  • Check the scan codes entered for both the unit and case to ensure they match the correct products.

Can I edit an existing mapping?

  • Yes, go to the Item to Case Mappings section and update the scan codes or unit per case values as needed.

What if my product does not have a case scan code?

  • You can manually create a mapping by using the same scan code for both the unit and case and adjusting the units per case accordingly.

Can I map different products together?

  • No, each mapping must link the same product in different packaging (e.g., a carton and its individual packs).

  • Mixing different products in one mapping may cause inventory tracking issues.
