Comdata POS Configuration Checklist for PDI C-Store Essentials

This article outlines the steps for configuring Comdata POS (Trendar) as a Secondary POS/Workstation using the C-Store Essentials BackOffice POSLink Application

Updated over a week ago

Important Notes

  • Trendar can only be configured as a Secondary POS, not as the Primary POS/Workstation

  • The Primary point-of-sale(e.g., Gilbarco Passport or Verifone Commander) must be fully set up and configured before setting up Trendar as the Secondary point-of-sale

  • Ensure the BackOffice computer is properly configured before proceeding

Step-by-Step Process

1. Set Up the Primary Workstation

  • Install and configure the CStore Essentials BackOffice POSLink Application on the Primary POS

  • Confirm that the Primary POS is fully connected and operational before adding Trendar as the Secondary POS

2. Configure Trendar on the BackOffice Computer

  • Ensure the Trendar folder is present and mapped in the C: drive

  • Verify the posbo folder contains the required subfolders:

    • bo2pos

    • pos2bo

  • If the required folders are missing, contact Trendar Support for assistance

3. Install and Verify the Smart Station App

  • Ensure the Smart Station app for Trendar is installed

  • Obtain an admin username and password to access the app

  • Log in and confirm that:

    • The menu is visible

    • The menu is functional and pulling correct data

  • If any issues occur, contact Trendar Support for troubleshooting

4. Match Department and Tax IDs

  • All Department IDs and Tax IDs in the Comdata POS / Smart Station app must match those in the Primary POS

  • This ensures:

    • Accurate item updates in CStore Essentials BackOffice

    • Correct department assignments for all products

    • Proper tax calculation

  • If there are discrepancies, work with Trendar Support to update the Comdata POS settings

5. Ensure Unique Gas Grade IDs

  • All active Gas Grade IDs in the Comdata POS must be unique

  • They should NOT match the Active Gas Grade IDs in the Primary POS

  • Duplicate Gas Grade IDs may cause conflicts when mapping fuel grades in C-Store Essentials

  • If duplicates exist, update the IDs in Comdata POS / Smart Station app to avoid conflicts
