Step-By-Step Process

Add a New Employee

  1. Log into your PDI C-Store Essentials web account

  2. Navigate to Payroll screen

    • Select Payroll on the left-hand side of the screen.

    • Under Developer Password, select Password to create login credentials for your employee

      • Only the password option is supported at this time

  3. Creating Paychecks

    • If you want to create paychecks for the employee:

      • Select Yes under the Paycheck option

      • (Optional) Enter the last four digits of the employee's Social Security Number

    • Enter the employee’s tax withholding details according to federal and state requirements

    • Choose an existing Payroll Advance Account, or add a new account if needed

    • Click Employee to save the new employee's information

    • The employee will now appear on your dashboard


Create a Clock-In/Clock-Out Shortcut

  1. While logged into your account, select Payroll on the left-hand side

  2. Locate and copy the unique Clock In/Out link provided on the Payroll page

  3. On your computer desktop:

    • Right-click and select New, then Shortcut.

    • Paste the copied Clock In/Out link into the shortcut location field

    • Assign a recognizable name to the shortcut (for example, "Clock In")

  4. (Optional) Customize the shortcut icon:

    • Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties

    • Click Change Icon to select a different image for the shortcut

  5. Employees can now use the shortcut to clock in and clock out:

    • Double-click the shortcut

    • Enter the password created during employee setup

    • Select either Clocked In or Clocked Out

    • After clocking in, employees are restricted from accessing other system functions unless they log out and log back in with full credentials.


Configure Payroll Settings

  1. . Go to C-Store Essentials Web Account

  2. Update Payroll Information

    • Select Payroll on the left-hand side.

    • Enter your Tax Rate based on your state regulations.

      • If you are unsure, consult your accountant or payroll provider

    • Adjust your Time Zone if necessary

    • Under Pay Your Payroll, you have the option to select a Payroll Expense Category

      • It will default to "Payroll," but you can change it if needed

    • Choose whether to enable the Overtime Breakdown option for printed paystubs

    • Click Save to apply any changes made


Important Notes

  • Only the Password option is supported for employee clock-in/out login setup

  • The last four digits of the employee’s Social Security Number are optional but may help with employee identification

  • Employees must log out of the clock-in session to access full system functions

  • The Clock In/Out link is unique to each account and must be copied directly from the Payroll page

  • Ensure your tax rate and time zone settings are correctly configured to avoid payroll errors
