Adjusting Item Inventory

To properly manage inventory be sure to first review item mappings and basic of inventory management. Once you have reviewed this you can enter current item inventory by following the steps below.

Enable Inventory tracking:

  1. Login to your PDI CStore Essentials account

  2. Click on POS Data -> Settings

  3. Click on the General Settings Tab

  4. Set Track Inventory count to Yes

  5. Click on Update Settings to save the settings

Entering current inventory manually:

  1. Login to your PDI CStore Essentials account

  2. Go to Pricebook -> Inventory -> Inventory Adjustment

  3. Select Adjustment date, Scan UPC code, and enter current inventory value. (Note: if you want to find item by name click on the edit icon next to the UPC code field)

  4. Click on Adjust Inventory button

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4

  6. Once done exit the screen.

Note: if you make a mistake and want to delete the inventory adjustment click on the garbage can icon on the grid below

Entering current inventory with file upload:

CStore Essentials supports inventory adjustment by file upload. The file needs to be in a .CSV format and must consist of product code, quantity. To see a sample file click here. Note, there should be no header on the file. Once the file is created follow these steps to upload the adjustment.

  1. Login to your PDI CStore Essentials account

  2. Go to Pricebook -> Inventory -> Inventory Adjustment

  3. Select the adjustment date

  4. Select Upload file button next to Adjust Inventory button.

  5. Find the file and upload the adjustment value.

  6. Once done exit the screen.

Entering current inventory with Mobile App:

  1. Launch the PDI CStore Essentials mobile app and log in to your account.

    Note: you will need Owner or Mobile Pricebook access.

  2. From the menu, click on Pricebook -> Set Inventory Count

  3. Click on the camera icon to launch the phone’s camera scanner

  4. Scan a picture of the bar code of the item you want to adjust inventory for

  5. Enter the current inventory on hand and click on Update button

Note: if item was previously scanned, the system will prompt you to either add to or replace the last scan. You can also adjust your previous inventory value by clicking on the pencil icon to edit the value.
