With PDI CStore Essentials, you have 4 options of building your initial Pricebook.
Option A: Upload your existing Pricebook
Note: This needs to be done on a computer at the store that is connected to the POS register.
PDI CStore Essentials currently supports the exporting of your Pricebook from certain versions of the Gilbarco passport and all versions of the Verifone products line. Nucleus and other POS systems are not supported for Pricebook export. To export the Pricebook, follow the steps below. To upload files from excel or a CSV file, click here.
For Gilbarco Passport POS system
Note: some passport versions do not support Pricebook extraction capabilities. If at the end of this process your file size is less than 100kb, most likely there is no Pricebook data in the file. In this case you might have to call a local tech or try options b, c, or e in this article.
What you will need to get started:
USB flash drive [?]
Access to your main passport station
Access to your back office PC
Export data from Passport POS system:
Plug the USB flash drive into any USB port on the back of your main passport station.
Note: it has to be plugged into the back and not the frontOn the passport station go to Tools -> Manager Workstation -> Setup -> Store -> Extraction Tools -> Export Data -> select Pricebook -> select the location drive (either E of F) -> click start to start the extraction
Once extraction is done, remove the USB flash drive and plug it into your back office computer.
Upload data to PDI CStore Essentials servers
Log into your PDI CStore Essentials account on your back office computer
Click on "‘Store Settings" to go to the "Get started" page.
Select "Upload your Pricebook file" option and drag and drop or find the file and upload it into PDI CStore Essentials. Give it about 10 minutes for the upload to complete.
For Verifone product line
PDI CStore Essentials supports Pricebook extraction for all Verifone product lines includes:
Sapphire
Ruby 2
Ruby Ci
Commander
. To upload your Pricebook from these POS systems, follow the steps below
Start PDI CStore Essentials Communication Agent by going to Start > Setup my pricebook > Upload Pricebook File
Click on "Upload your pricebook file"
Wait 10-15 minutes for the Pricebook to get upload.

Option B: Using PDI CStore Essentials' common items database
Note: This can be done from any computer.
Log into your PDI CStore Essentials account
Click on "‘Store Settings" to go to the "Get started" page.
Go to "Setup my pricebook" section.
Click on "Import from C-Store common items"
Select PDI CStore Essentials Category and Sub Category options ONLY to filter the available items list, and click "Search"
Note: "Brand" and "Size" option are left blankAssign department, tax type and your price amount to the filtered items.
Note: You can use down arrow to fill down a value in all the items.Click "Import selected" to import the selected items.
Repeat steps 5-7 for other category/sub-categories.
When finished, select "Send all added Items to your register"
ORGo to Pricebook > Send to POS > Click on "Send all item Changes" to send imported items to your POS register.
Option C: Transfer from another PDI CStore Essentials account
Note: This can be done from any computer.
Log into your PDI CStore Essentials account
Click on "Store Settings" to go to the "Get started" page.
Click on "Setup my pricebook" link
Click on "Import from other store's Pricebook" link
Type in the username and password of the store that you are importing the Pricebook from.
Choose the categories you wish to add between source store’s department and your store’s departments and click "Import".
Repeat step 6 for all other departments
Go to POS Data -> Settings and click on "Rebatch Pricebook" at the bottom of the page
Select "Entire Pricebook" and click "Send to register"
Option D: Build your own Pricebook using PDI CStore Essentials mobile app
Launch the PDI CStore Essentials mobile app and log in to your account.
Note: you will need Owner or Mobile Pricebook access.
From the menu, click on Pricebook -> Add/update item.
Click on the camera icon to launch the phone’s camera scanner.
Scan a picture of the barcode of the item you want to add
Update the item’s description, set the department, tax type, price and other fields.
When finished, click "Save changes" button.
Note: If you are adding items in the same department and/or prices, check the ‘Remember values for next item’ option.Repeat steps 3-6 for all additional items you would like to add
From the menu, click on Pricebook -> Send Changes To Register.
Click on "send item to register" button.
