How to Map Tax Rates in C-Store Essentials

This article outlines the process to add tax rates to your PDI CStore Essentials account, ensuring accurate tax calculations for items in your store

Step-By-Step Process

  1. Go to C-Store Essentials Web Account

    • You can access C-Store Essentials by clicking here or going to https://secure.cstorepro.com

      • Click the “Forgot Password” button if you need help resetting your password

  2. Navigate to Store Settings

    • On the right side of the screen click on the human silhouette icon

    • Then click on POS Settings

3. Add a New Tax Rate

  • In the top-right corner, click the "+" icon to add a new tax rate

  • Enter the Register Tax ID and Tax Name for the new rate

  • Click Add Tax to save the new tax rate in your account

Can I add multiple tax rates?

  • Yes, you can add multiple tax rates to accommodate different items or regions with varying tax requirements.

Is it necessary to add the same tax rate to my point-of-sale register?

  • You must manually add it to your point-of-sale register for the rate to be applied at checkout before mapping in C-Store

What fields are required when adding a new tax rate?

  • You must enter the Register Tax ID and Tax Name for the tax rate.

  • Other fields are optional based on your specific setup.

Can I update existing tax rates?

  • Yes, you can edit tax rates by selecting the tax rate from the list and updating the information as needed.

Where do I apply the tax rate once added?

  • Once the tax rate is created, you can assign it to items in the Price Book or directly to departments where the tax applies.

  • This has to be set on the register in order for it to take effect, Updating in C-store only maps it and does technically set it up on the register.
