πŸͺ™ How to Round Your Item Prices in Price Book via Bulk Update

Learn how to quickly round your item prices in PDI Essentials using the Bulk Update feature.

As pennies are no longer circulated in the U.S., retailers choose to round item prices to streamline checkout and reduce small-change handling.

PDI Essentials cannot round the final POS transaction total, but you can quickly round up item prices using Bulk Update.


πŸ› οΈ How to Round Item Prices

1. Go to Price Book β†’ Bulk Update

2. Use the Min/Max Price Filters

Example:

  1. Min Price: 1.01

  2. Max Price: 1.09
    This pulls all items priced between $1.01 and $1.09.

3. Choose How You Want to Round

Option A: Set a Single New Price

Type a simple value like 1.05 in the New Price field β†’ click the down arrow to apply it to all items in the list.

Option B: Use Quick Adjust Formulas

Use small adjustment formulas in the New Price field to clean up prices:

Examples:

  • +0.01 β†’ $1.04 becomes $1.05

  • +0.02 β†’ $1.03 becomes $1.05

  • -0.01 β†’ $1.06 becomes $1.05

  • -0.04 β†’ $1.09 becomes $1.05
    Click the down arrow to apply to all items.

4. Send Changes to Register

Click Send Changes to Register to push the updated prices to your POS.


Important Note

  • These steps only update item retail prices in PDI Essentials.

  • Your POS system may still calculate the final total differently after tax.

  • If you need rounding on the final receipt total, please contact your POS Helpdesk.
