Learn how to fix "Invalid Value for Store Postal Code" error while validating your PDI Essentials account with IBC.

Updated over a week ago

Description

If you're seeing the error message "Invalid value for store postal code" when attempting to validate your IBC, this means there's an issue with the postal code stored in your account. This error typically occurs when the postal code contains incorrect digits, trailing spaces, or other formatting issues that prevent successful validation.

Resolution Steps

Step 1: Click on the Human Silhouette icon
Step 2: Click on Manage my store.
Step 3: Click on Update store information
Step 4: Correct the Postal Code

Option A: Incorrect Postal Code

  • If the postal code is entirely wrong or missing digits, delete the existing value in the postal code field

  • Manually type in the correct postal code

Option B: Postal Code Appears Correct

  • Even if the postal code looks correct, delete the entire field content

  • Manually type in the postal code again (do not copy and paste)

Step 5: Click on Update to save changes.
Step 6: Re-attempt validating your IBC using your unique IBC number for the site.

⚠️ Important Notes

Do Not Copy and Paste: Avoid copying and pasting the postal code from other sources. This can introduce hidden trailing spaces or invisible characters that will cause validation to fail. Always type the postal code manually.

Why This Happens: The system performs strict validation on postal codes. Even a single trailing space or hidden character will cause the validation to fail, as the system cannot match the string exactly.
