⚠️ Before You Begin
Important Prerequisite: Age restrictions must first be configured on your POS Register before they can be mapped in PDI Essentials. The ID values you set up on the POS will be used to create matching mappings in Essentials. Ensure you have the age restriction IDs from your POS system ready before proceeding with this guide.
📋 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Click on the Human Silhouette icon
Step 2: Select POS Settings
Step 3: Click on Age Restriction tab
Step 4: Click on the + icon to create a new age restriction mapping.
Step 5: Enter Age Restriction Details
In the form that appears:
ID Field: Enter the age restriction ID that matches your POS Register setup (e.g., "1", "2", "21")
Name Field: Enter a descriptive name for the restriction (e.g., "Must be 21", "Tobacco ID Check")
Click "Update" to save the age restriction mapping.
You can now assign items to the appropriate age restriction group when adding new items or updating existing ones. Additionally, you can use our bulk update feature to assign items to restriction groups in bulk.
📌 Important
Item-Level Restrictions Only
PDI Essentials supports age restrictions at the item level only. Department-level age restrictions are not available in Essentials. To apply age restrictions to an entire department, please contact your POS Helpdesk to have the function assigned.
