Passport POS v24.04.27.01 Compatibility Notice – PriceBook Item List Export Not Supported by BackOffice

Passport POS version 24.04.27.01 exports the PriceBook Item List in .json format, which is not currently supported by CStore Essentials BackOffice. Customers using this workflow should avoid upgrading until compatibility is available.

Overview

Customers who extract the PriceBook Item List from Passport POS Registers for upload into CStore Essentials BackOffice should not upgrade to Passport POS version 24.04.27.01 at this time.

This version introduces a change to the PriceBook Item List export format, which is not currently supported by BackOffice.

What Changed

Starting with Passport POS v24.04.27.01, the file format used when exporting the POS Register PriceBook Item List has changed.

At this time, BackOffice supports only .xml files for PriceBook Item list uploads and does not support .json files.

Impact

If a site upgrades to Passport POS v24.04.27.01:

  • The PriceBook Item List exported from the POS Register will be generated in .json format

  • The .json file cannot be uploaded into CStore Essentials BackOffice

  • Customers may be unable to complete the PriceBook upload process

Recommended Action

If your workflow includes extracting the POS Register PriceBook Item List and uploading it to BackOffice:

  • Do not upgrade to Passport POS v24.04.27.01 until BackOffice supports the .json format

  • Continue using your current supported Passport POS version

A notification will be provided once compatibility becomes available.
