There are a few types of UPC barcodes, However, UPC-A and UPC-E Format barcodes have traditionally been used and most recognized barcode in the United States, since it appears on almost every retail product.

Its a unique 12 digit identification number for an individual product. (For very small items on which the standard UPC-A barcode will not fit, the smaller UPC-E barcode is commonly used, which contains only total 8 digits.)

UPC-A is 11-digits + 1 check-digit, Stored without the check-digit in CStore Essentials

Sample: 12 digit UPC-A Barcode

UPC-E is 7-digits + 1 check-digit, Always starts with 0 or 1, Expanded to UPC-A

Sample: 8 digit UPC-E Barcode

EAN-13 and EAN-8 Format Barcodes are most common in other countries.

CStore Essentials supports and allows to Add and Send most of the EAN Format Items to POS-Register. By doing so, if unable to Scan some of these Items on POS-Register, you may need to try entering directly on POS-Register.

*(While entering Scancode to Add Item into CStore Essentials, Include all the digits, the leading small number and trailing small number at the end)
