How to Configure v24.04 Gilbarco Passport POS Settings for PDI CStore Essentials Back Office

Learn how to configure Gilbarco Passport POS Back Office settings for PDI CStore Essentials (CSE), including NACS XML generation, Store Close documents, XML Gateway polling, BackOffice credentials, and BoOutBox/BoInBox directory paths.

Overview

Gilbarco Passport must be configured with the appropriate Back Office Interface settings to communicate correctly with PDI CStore Essentials Back Office.


These settings are required to ensure:

  • Transaction-level and day-close data are generated correctly for CStore Essentials.

  • XML files are exchanged between Passport and the Back Office.

  • Back Office credentials and file polling function correctly.

  • Price changes sent from CStore Essentials transfer to the POS as intended.

Important: The following settings should be configured on the Gilbarco Passport Manager Workstation.


1. Open the Back Office Interface Settings

  1. Sign in to the Passport Manager Workstation with highest level of access.

  2. Click Setup.

  3. Select Store.

  4. Select Back Office.

  5. Click Back Office Interface.


2. Configure Generation Options

Click the + next to Generation Options to expand the section.

> For Interface Format, select: NACS XML 3.4

Under Generation Options, enable the required options, including:

  • Generate Transaction Level Detail (PJR)

  • Generate Acknowledgement Files

  • Drop UPC Check Digit

  • The Back Office Sends a Value of 0 for the base item in the POSCodeModifier tag

Ensure other Generation options are toggled OFF as they are not required for PDI CStore Essentials.


3. Configure Document Settings

Click the + next to Documents to expand the section.

The Document tab contains two columns:

  • Store Close

  • Shift Close

Enable all Store Close options on both Page 1 and Page 2.
Keep all Shift Close options disabled on both pages.


4. Configure Polling Options

Click the + next to Polling Options to expand the section.

> Enable XML Gateway File Polling

Enter the following information exactly:

Directory Path to Pull XML Files From

Z:\BoOutBox\

Directory Path to Push XML Files To

Z:\BoInBox\

Note: The username and password are case-sensitive. Enter BackOffice with a capital B and capital O.


5. Save the Configuration

  1. Click Save to apply the changes.

  2. If Passport displays confirmation pop-ups, click Yes or OK to continue.

The Gilbarco Passport Back Office Interface is now configured for use with PDI CStore Essentials Back Office.
